Move Toward a Ransom Virtual 5k run/walk

If you know me, you know that I do NOT run. I love working out in almost every other way, but I hate running! I was having a conversation the other day with some friends about their love for running. I said, "I'm not sure I would run to save my life...the only reason I would run is to save the life of one of my children." It was that moment that an idea began to form. I began to get a feel of interest in this, both locally and far away. I have never been in a 5k, I have certainly never thought about planning one before. But I think it is a great idea! Here are some basic questions/answers.

Q. When will this event take place?

A. Our local event will be at 2pm on Sunday, February 17, 2013. If that time or date don't work for you, you can participate anytime you want. I would love to have pictures emailed to me to add to our boys' Bring Me Home book whenever, where ever you do participate.

Q. Who is this for?

A. It is for anyone anywhere! The possibilities are endless! We will have a local gathering here, but you can register online and run/walk anywhere. You can run alone or get your own group of friends together and run wherever you are. If you can't run, walk! You can walk alone or with a group! If you cannot make it for the whole distance, that is okay too! Just go as fast and as far as you can! We are moving toward a ransom!

Q. How much is registration?

A. We will be asking for a $25 donation to our adoption grant for each adult participant. That will get each adult a tee shirt and a wrist band. These items can be picked up the day of the event at our location for those participating locally. I will mail these items to those that do not live near. All registrations must be submitted by Friday, 2/8/13, in order to insure tee shirts will get here in time. Registration will remain open until the day of the event, but I cannot guarantee tee shirts BEFORE event day if registering after 2/8.

Q. How do I register?
